The Scent of Lilacs

HELLO!!! Oh. My. Goodness!!! What happened to me?? I can't believe that I am finally posting! A year? Really? A year has really gone by? Geesh! I have been busy working on really fun sewing projects! I promise! I just never got around to sharing them. And I really want to share them with you! Beautiful, fun projects! I have loved them all!

So, today (finally) I am sharing a beautiful wool pillow that I stitched up this past June. I just LOVE the colors of this! This is a Wooly Lady limited edition called The Scent of Lilacs. Now it was a limited edition earlier this summer - lol! But I have found where you could purchase this kit if you are so in love with this pillow like I am! You can find the kit complete with pattern  and wool here. I used Valdani 6-strand silk floss to stitch this up. Boy, do I love that stuff!! Just wish I could afford to get all the colors!

The kit includes all the limited edition hand dyed wools to complete the pillow. And the best part is that each piece of wool is way bigger than you need (except for the background piece) so that you can make other beautiful projects using these gorgeous wools! A great way to build your wool stash! Woohoo!

You can see that I made an easy envelope back. I love these types of pillow backs to be able to remove the pillow easily. If I need to, I can wash it or if I want to change the look of the pillow, I can put a new cover on it! The backing fabric came from Hobby Lobby. It's a sort of Batik. Sorry that I can't remember the exact name. There are so many beautiful Batiks out there! I thought this one coordinated perfectly with the pillow front!

So there you have it! I am so happy that I could share this project with you all! Thanks for standing by me! I have more to share and the pictures have been taken and everything! I will promise to try harder to post my projects! I just love sharing with you! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
