Loopy Pillow

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend is going great! Nick's soccer game was earlier today and that was really fun!! The game ended in a tie and the boys played great against a tough team! Very exciting!! I was hoping to get some sewing done today but Nick has a friend over and I seem to be finding other things to do instead of sewing. Oh well. I will be going to the quilt shop tomorrow to do some stitching so I guess I will look forward to that!!

I realized that I had not blogged about my loopy pillow. This past summer I had been in my local quilt store and saw this pillow. I was in love!! What a super fun pillow this is and I LOVE the fabric! This pillow is one of the projects that you can find in the instruction booklet. There is also a great loopy wall hanging quilt and a loopy bag! Three projects!! You can find the pattern 'here'. The fabric is from Kansas Troubles. Man they have beautiful fabric! I believe that the fabric line is Sandhill Plums. The loops are made from a honeybun. I had never heard of a honeybun but it is just a roll of skinnier strips that a jelly roll. FUN! Anyway, I hope that you try it out yourself! It is really super easy (hey, if I can do it...)

Thank you so much for stopping by! I actually tried something new on my post today. I took the picture from my phone (great camera on it) and I uploaded from my phone and then typed the post from my computer. Pretty cool! I hope you all have super day and weekend!

Fun and 'Finally' Done Quilt

Hello everyone! Wow!!! It has been quite a while since I posted last! I don't know how many of you have been visiting but I sure hope you all haven't given up on me! I have been working on some 'big' projects and they have taken me a little longer than I had planned. Also, I must confess that I have been starting a few other projects and that, too, gets in the way of finishing projects. So, I have a lot of projects that need to be finished - lol!

Here is my very first, ever, quilt that I made all by myself!! I am so proud of it!! I have to say that it is by far from perfect but I don't care. This quilt is to be used - inside, outside and everywhere! I will be taking it to soccer games and baseball games and I will throw it in the washer and then cuddle with it...

This kind of quilt is a Fun and Done quilt. I bought the pattern at my local quilt store and then ordered the fabric online from Connecting Threads. The pattern called for 32 different fabrics but I chose just 8 and a backing/sashing fabric for my quilt. This is a twin sized quilt and my son has already enjoyed wrapping up in it!!
You can find the pattern 'here'. There are many different kinds of Fun and Done quilt patterns and I have picked up a few that I am eager to try out! This pattern is the Crisscross pattern. The fabric from Connecting Threads is the Urban Odyssey line. I didn't purchase all the fabric in the line. But you can see it all 'here'.

I hope that you enjoyed seeing my first quilt! I have already started prepping fabric for a quilt that my son wants me to make for him! I am trying something new with this one. I also have a large wool project going on (almost finished) and a Christmas quilt wall hanging (block of the month). These are coming together nicely. I also know of about three other projects that I need to finish up - lol! Well, at least I won't get bored! So I will keep plugging along! Thanks for being patient with me! I hope to be back real soon with another finished project!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

An Apple A Day

Hello everyone! I have another wool project to share with you! I made my son's teachers this candle mat. I really love how these turned out! And these really were super easy to do! A great beginner project! I had wanted to frame them but didn't get around to doing that part before we needed to give them away. But they will be fun to set out on their desks and use for a mug! I ordered this as a kit from Winterberry Cabin

I am still working on my Fun & Done quilt! I have four rows attached! Now it's time to cut some more fabric. I will have to try and take a photo of my progress on that. I also have a couple of wool projects that need to be finished up. I am currently taking a class on a big project and need to get back to stitching so that I will be caught up before class tonight!! Ooops!! Better get back to work! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My First Wool Project!

Hello everyone and welcome to my newest adventure! I have been wanting to start a blog where I can share my sewing creations. I also want to share progress on my sewing creations.

This past January I took a beginning wool appliqué class with my friend Becky. I was instantly hooked!! We both were!! Actually, Becky really took off and she is really going strong - lol! But I love it, too! Anyway, the class was three sessions (one class per month) and we finally finished up in March. Since then, I have taken on more projects and have started a quilt! These are things that I will share as time goes on. Anyway, this particular mat is the Daisy Table Mat. This was my very first project and the only one that I have that is completely finished. It is really hard to see the stitches but that's o.k. - lol!! I didn't do too bad but I did learn a lot!! I bought this as a kit and it came with all the wool needed for this project and the backing. I just had to find thread to match. I used a combination of DMC Pearle Cotton and Valdani. This is a Primitive Gatherings kit.

I am hoping to post at least once a week - for sure once every two weeks. It just depends on how far I have come on my projects. I do hope that this blog will help keep me sewing!! I am really excited to be sewing and sharing! Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
